Concrete Flooring
The simple, polished concrete floor serves dual purposes. It was implemented because its simplicity eliminates the need for toxic flooring materials and adhesives found in traditional buildings, and because it creates a large “thermal mass” which absorbs and holds heat from sunlight, reducing the building’s energy consumption.
In addition, the building utilizes concrete walls to absorb more heat from the sun.
